As districts continue to navigate the impacts of the pandemic, educators nationwide are working toward a number of key priorities, including the need to understand and close learning gaps and equitably accelerate growth throughout the year. With a high-quality, comprehensive assessment system in place, educators are well-equipped to accomplish those goals. However, there can be some confusion regarding how to efficiently and effectively use assessments throughout the year and how to turn various assessment data into actionable next steps.

The purpose of this toolkit is to support data-driven educators in utilizing assessment tools to drive the right next steps at the right time—both to equitably close “COVID Slide” learning gaps and to enhance how they use data for years to come.
